Tour itinerary:
Day 01: Malang or Surabaya to Hotel in Ijen Crater
Start from airport, train’s station or hotel in Malang or Surabaya (please let us know where we have to meet you), our staff will meet you then escort you to the small town of Banyuwangi regency where Ijen Crater Located. The journey takes approximately 7-8 hours by private car with air conditioned with possible stops en route for having lunch at local restaurant on the way. On this trip, you will pass rural landscape, small city, plantations, rainforest & beaches. Upon your arrival Banyuwangi, you will stay overnight at Ketapang Indah Hotel or similar hotel before enjoy Ijen Crater Trekking on the next morning.
Day 02: Ijen Crater Tours – Sukamade Turtle Beach (B, L, D)
Around at 04:30 in the morning, our 4WD vehicle (jeep) will bring us to the village of Licin and then continue to the slope of Mount Ijen, passing through plantations and rainforest. This is one of the few remaining on the Island of Java with giant ferns, plants & big trees, this journey takes approximately 1 hour from the hotel by private car. Arrive at the parking area of Mount Ijen, approximately 1 until 1.5 hours will be required to ascend slope of mount Ijen to reach peak of Ijen Crater and along the path, you will enjoy the stunning natural scenery with fresh air & shady. Resting on the edge of the crater at an altitude of 2883 meters and enjoy best panorama of the lake of sulfate where reflects spectacular view in the surrounding walls to give the impression like unforgettable thing on your life. The sulfur mining workers go down into the crater and climb back up by passing dangerous path on the edge of Ijen Crater with the load as much as 80 kilograms on their shoulders. This is really a dangerous & hard job. Here also, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery in the crater of Ijen as one of God’s amazing creation. Do not forget to take pictures in this area as a proof that you have visited one of the most amazing places on earth.
After enjoyed the natural scenery at Crater of Ijen and then you will descend the slope of Mount Ijen until vehicles parking area where our vehicle is waiting to escort you back to the City of Banyuwangi and then we will continue our trip to reach the Sukamade Green Turtle Beach. It takes for about 3-4 hours driving by 4WD vehicle/ jeep to reach Sukamade Beach by crossing rain forest and small rivers by our special vehicle adventures. Lunch will be served at local restaurant on the way to reach area of Sukamade Turtle Beach and on this date, you will have dinner & overnight stay at the Guesthouse nearby and return to the beach at night for turtle spotting
Optional program for Blue Fire Ijen Tours: If the weather is good enough, you will have a chance to see blue fire & sunrise at Ijen Crater but you are required to leave from the hotel around at 12:00pm (midnight) and there will be extra cost for mining worker who will lead us to see blue fire at Ijen Crater (you can pay him on the site). Sukamade Turtle Beach: Sukamade beach is about 97 km to southwest of Banyuwangi. It is natural and quiet, beautiful place. Dutch discovered it in 1927. The 1200 hectare estate is an active plantation that produces rubber, coffee and cacao. Sukamade is the east Java Natural Resource Conservation which is in charge of the turtle’s perpetuation. A night adventure tour to Sukamade is an unforgettable trip. You will be guided by a natural resource to find sea turtles come to a shore to lay eggs. You can see a female turtle lays more than one hundred eggs on the sandy beach. The female turtles usually start landing at 7:30 PM and return to the sea at 12:00PM.
How you can reach Sukamade Turtle Beach: We will use jeep (4WD vehicle) to reach this place & the road to Sukamade is worth for the people who want to get the real adventure trip. It is one of best Java adventure trail for exploring southern coast of Banyuwangi. crossing the rivers, exploring the rural landscapes & passing rainforest. Along the way to visit this place the visitors can stop at the beautiful place as known as Rajegwesi & the green bay (Teluk Hijau) with its beautiful cliff around. Here, also you will have a chance for a dawn excursion to see animals on the savannah. This place is virgin forest forest with white sandy beach & natural view which is located on the southern tip of Banyuwangi, East Java-Indonesia.
Accommodation in Sukamade Beach: Condition here is very basic, but more often for the people who visited this place will recommend to others to visit Sukamade Beach when they are in Banyuwangi and sometime, they intend to come back to get an experience exceedingly rare & unique. On this date, you will stay overnight & having dinner at the lodge or guesthouse in Sukamade Beach.
Day 03: Sukamade Turtle Beach & drive to the place for Water Rafting (B)
After breakfast in Sukamade turtle beach area then spend the morning for exploring the surroundings of Sukamade. This is an area of virtually void of people. Go and a dip in crystal clear waters nearby river. Afterward, we leave this area in the early noon to continue our trip for about 7-8 hours driving to reach to the accommodation in the place for rafting activities. On this way, you will pass rural landscape, plantations, small cities & rice fields. Upon your arrival in the place for Water Rafting, we will escort you to accommodation at Saung Condong Cottage which is located on the bank of Songa River or it is known by The Songa Cottage
The Songa cottage has natural river view which it can pamper you with the roar of the water and the green view of the region around the cottage. This cottage fits perfectly for the concept of training activities or outbound activities. The Songa cottage made from Bamboo with traditional building concept but it has complete facilities with western style. The Songa Cottage offers with good value of price for visitors who wanna stay and doing Water Rafting activities in the Songa river area.
Day 04: Water Rafting Activities & drive to Bromo Hotel (B)
After having breakfast, we will escort to the place which is as starting point to do Water Rafting Activities. On this day, you will do the Rafting and the Rafting will be done for about 3 hours & it will be included your lunch on this place. After enjoyed Water Rafting, around in the afternoon we will continue our trip to the Hotel in Bromo area for about 2 hours driving. In this route will pass rural landscape, small cities, rice fields & plantations.
Upon arrival in Mt. Bromo, you will stay at Lava View Lodge or Java Banana Hotel Bromo or similar where overlooking to the actives volcano of Mount Bromo, Mount Batok and Mount Kursi around Tengger region for your enjoyable stay
Optional program during the way to Mount Bromo: If you still have enough time & the weather is good enough, you will have a chance to visit Madakaripura waterfall during the way to reach your hotel in Mount Bromo area, but for entrance tickets & local guide at Madakaripura waterfall will be your own cost. Day 05: Bromo Sunrise & Savannah Tours & drive back to Surabaya (B)
At dawn time (03:30 am), the 4WD (JEEP) will bring you to parking area on bottom of Mt. Pananjakan and from this place, you are required to trek up Mt. Pananjakan for about 30-45 minutes on foot to reach the place to see sunrise. Mount Pananjakan is known as the view point to enjoy sunrise time in Bromo area which is located on the rim of the Tengger caldera. If it is not foggy, the sunlight when the sunrise will play light shadow which it come up from the sidelines of the mountains and it will give impression like unforgettable thing on your mind & heart as a creation from the God
Afterward, the jeep will bring us to continue our tour to reach the parking area which is located on the bottom of Mt. Bromo by passing the amazing view, such as: sea of sand which is bordered by Mountains in Tengger area, then from parking area for the jeep, you are required to cross seas sand of Mt. Bromo by horse riding or on foot (it is optional) till reach the starting point to trek up of Mt Bromo by following more than 250 stairs which it will lead you to reach peak of Mt Bromo.
After enjoy nice view in Mt. Bromo and around at 08:00, we will escort you back to the hotel for having Breakfast. After having breakfast, we will continue our trip for about 1,5 hour driving by 4WD vehicle/ jeep to reach “the savanna/ teletubies hill” by crossing the seas sand in Tengger region which it is bordered by mountains. After a short break & take pictures, we will go to hotel for taking a bath, packing, loading bags into the vehicle and then transfer you out back to Surabaya or Malang area and it will take about 3-4 hours driving. Optional program for Bromo Milky Way Tours: If the weather is good enough, you will have a chance to do optional tour program for Milky Way Tours in Bromo area. This trip will be begun at midnight time from your hotel in Bromo (around at 1:30 or 02:00 am) and we will use 4WD vehicle or jeep to reach the place which is best point to see Milky Way in Mount Bromo area. If you are interested to do this trip, you are required to inform us in advance & there will be extra cost to do this optional tour program as attached
