Tour itinerary:
Day 01: Malang or Surabaya to Ijen Crater Hotel
On this day, our staff will meet you at airport, train’s station or hotel either in Malang or Surabaya (please let us know where we have to meet you and the best time to start this tour package is before 13:00 pm), and then our driver (our staff) will leave from Malang or Surabaya to escort you to the small town of Banyuwangi or Bondowoso which these cities are located nearby Mount Ijen as your first destination for this trip in Java Island. The journey will take approximately 7-9 hours driving by private car which is completed with air conditioned and on this trip you may have a possibility to stop en route for having lunch at the local restaurant. On this trip, you also will pass rural landscape, small city, plantations, rainforest & beaches. Upon your arrival time in the city which is nearby Ijen crater , you will stay overnight at Ketapang Indah Hotel, Santika Hotel Banyuwangi, Ijen View Hotel or similar hotel before enjoy Ijen trekking and expedition tours in the next morning
Day 02: Ijen expedition tours and drive to Sukamade guesthouse (B, L, D)
Wake up in the dawn time (around at 04:00 am) and then you will meet with our staff at the lobby of your hotel to drive to reach to the Paltuding by passing through plantations and rainforest. This is one of the few remaining rain forest in Java Island with giant ferns, plants & big trees. This journey takes approximately 1 hour from your hotel by private car. Paltuding is well known as post 1 (base camp) or starting point for Ijen expedition tour and climbing or trekking tour activities to the slope of Mount Ijen.
Arrive in the parking in Paltuding which is located on the slope Mount Ijen, approximately 1 until 1.5 - 2 hours will be required to ascend slope of mount Ijen to reach peak of Ijen Crater ( it is depend on the your condition) and along the path, you will enjoy the stunning natural scenery with fresh air & shady. Resting on the edge of the crater at an altitude of 2883 meters and enjoy best panorama of the lake of sulfate where reflects spectacular view in the surrounding walls to give the impression like doom. The sulfur mining workers go down into the crater and climb back up by passing dangerous path on the edge of Ijen Crater with the load as much as 80 kilograms on their shoulders. This is really a dangerous & hard job. Here also, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery in the crater of Ijen as one of God’s amazing creation. Do not forget to take pictures in this area as a proof that you have visited one of the most amazing places on earth
After enjoyed the natural scenery at crater of Ijen and then you will descend the slope of Mount Ijen until vehicles parking area in Paltuding base camp where our vehicle is waiting to escort you back to your hotel or accommodation in Ijen crater area or continue for our trip directly to reach to the green turtle beach of Sukamade via Sarongan village. From Mount Ijen will take for about 2-3 hours driving to reach Sarongan village and from this village we will change & use 4WD vehicle or jeep to continue our trip to reach to Sukamade Beach for another 2 hours by crossing rain forest and small rivers. Lunch will be served at local restaurant which is located on the bank of road to Sukamade. On this day, you will overnight stay and enjoy dinner at the guesthouse of Sukamade beach area and return to the beach at night for turtle spotting
Sukamade Turtle Beach: Sukamade beach is about 97 km to southwest of Banyuwangi. This place is one nature reserve with quiet surrounding. Dutch has discovered it in 1927. The 1200 hectare estate is an active plantation that produces rubber, coffee and cacao. Sukamade is a Natural Resource Conservation which is in charge of the turtle’s perpetuation in East Java. A night adventure tour to Sukamade is an unforgettable trip. You will be guided by a ranger and our tour guide to find sea turtles which will come to a shore to lay eggs. If you are lucky enough, you will see a female turtle lays more than one hundred eggs on the sandy beach. The female turtles usually start landing at 7:30 PM and return to the sea at 12:00 PM.
How can you reach the turtle beach of Sukamade: We will use jeep (4WD vehicle) to reach this place & the road to Sukamade is worth for the people who want to get the real of adventure trip. It is one of the best adventure trail in Java Island for exploring southern coast of Banyuwangi. Crossing the rivers, exploring rural landscapes, passing rainforest & along the way to visit this place the visitors can stop at the beautiful place as known as Rajegwesi & the green bay (Teluk Hijau) with its beautiful cliff around. Here, also you will have a chance for short excursion in afternoon time to see animals on the savanna with extra cost for a ranger (it is as optional program). The turtle beach of Sukamade is one of the long beach with white sandy which is bordered by virgin forest with natural view which is located on the southern tip of Banyuwangi, East Java - Indonesia.
Accommodation in Sukamade: The condition here is very quiet, the facility is very simple & the electricity will be turned on at 17 pm and will turned off at 05 am, but more often for the people who visited this place will recommend to others to visit this place / Sukamade beach, and sometime they intend to come again to get an experience exceedingly unique & rare on their life. On this day, you will stay overnight & having dinner at the lodge or guesthouse of Sukamade.
Day 03: Sukamade turtle beach & drive to Kalibaru Hotel (B)
After breakfast in Sukamade turtle beach area and then enjoy your morning time for exploring the surroundings of Sukamade. This is an area of virtually void of people. Go and a dip in crystal clear waters nearby river. Afterward, we leave this area in the early noon to continue our trip to your hotel in Kalibaru Highland for about 4-5 hours driving. On this trip, you will pass rural landscape, plantations, small cities & rice fields. Upon arrival in Kalibaru Highland, you will stay overnight and having dinner at Margoutomo Cottages or similar hotel where located in the middle of any kind of plantations (Coffee, Rubber & Cocoa plantations) with nice hill view before you continue our trip in the next day
Day 04: Kalibaru plantation tours & drive to Bromo hotel (B)
Having breakfast at your hotel, then around at 08:00, you will have a chance to enjoy eco trip of plantations in Kalibaru area. On this tour's program, you will do short trekking or walking through 09 hectares plantations with varieties of spices such as nutmeg, pepper, cinnamon, cocoa, coffee, cloves and coconuts. You may also discover the extraordinary attraction of a traditional making process of palm tree liquid into palm sugar. Not to forget for visiting the dairy farm. The tour can be arranged in the morning and takes about 1 hour until 1.5 hours. Afterward, around at 10:00am, we will continue our trip to Mount Bromo area for about 6-7 hours driving and upon arrival in Mount Bromo, you will stay at the luxury hotel, such as at Jiwa Jawa Bromo or at the middle class hotel, such as at Lava View Lodge, Cafe Café Bromo, Bromo Permai Hotel, SM Bromo Hotel or similar hotel which is located in the Tengger area for enjoyable overnight stay before you enjoy sunrise and bromo tours in the next morning
Day 05: Sunrise – Bromo caldera & Savanna tours - Surabaya or Malang (B)
At 3:30 am, we will use jeep or 4WD vehicle which will be ready in the your hotel area to start your trip to enjoy for Bromo sunrise tour which is located on the tengger region as known as a view point to see sunrise with its young volcanic including Mount Bromo and an active Mount Semeru as background. If it is not foggy, the sunlight when the sunrise will play light shadow which it come up from the sidelines of the mountains and it will give impression like unforgettable thing on mind & heart as a creation from the God. You can choose one of the places to see sunrise in Mount Bromo area such as:
Mount Pananjakan or Gunung Penanjakan is known well as the best place for view point of Bromo Sunrise in Tengger region. Mt Penanjakan is a major viewing point for all tourists who visited Mount Bromo to enjoy sunrise tours Bromo. It means this place will be crowded on the season of holiday or on the weekend
Kingkong hill or Bukit Kingkong: If you visit to Mount Bromo, on weekends, or holidays, so at Bromo very crowded with visitors. I suggest you go to the other viewpoint (king kong hill) is a good place to see the sunrise time and Bromo crater, on the an altitude of about 2600 meters
Love hill of Bromo or Bukit Cinta Bromo: is an alternative place to see the stunning beauty for sunrise time on the Mount Bromo. Just like King Kong hill, the spot of love hill is also less well-known than the main spot named "the view point 1" or Mount Penanjakan (the 1st summit climbing), where the most clear view of the sunrise on Mount Bromo can be seen from this spot. However, if you got that Mount Penanjakan is too crowded of other tourists, you can choose Love Hill as a good alternative besides King Kong hill
After a short break & take pictures, our jeep will bring us to continue our trip to reach the parking area for 4WD vehicle (jeep) by passing the amazing view on the slope of Mount Bromo, then from parking area you are required to cross the seas of sand on the slope of Mount Bromo by horse riding or on foot (it is optional) till reach to the stairs up (more than 250 stairs) on the bottom of Mount Bromo which it will lead you to reach to the peak of Mout Bromo to see the spectacular view of Bromo Crater. After enjoy nice view in Mt. Bromo and around at 07:30 am, we will continue our trip for about 1-1.5 hours driving by 4WD vehicle/ jeep to reach “the savanna/ teletubies hill” by crossing the seas of sand in Bromo & Tengger region which is bordered by mountains. After a short break & take pictures, we will drive back to hotel for breakfast, taking a bath, packing, loading bags into the vehicle and then transfer you out back to Surabaya or Malang area and it will take about 3-5 hours driving. And then tour package has finished
