Day 01: Malang or Surabaya to Ijen Crater for Blue Fire Ijen Tours

This trip will be begun around at 16:00 – 18:00 pm either from Malang or Surabaya and then drive for about 8-9 hours by a private car whichs completed by air conditioned to reach to the parking area in Paltuding of Ijen Crater which is well known as a base camp and starting point for Ijen crater trekking & expedition tours. During your trip either from Malang or Surabaya to Ijen Crater you will pass the small cities, rice fields, plantations & beaches. On this tour, you may can ask to the driver to stop on way for awhile for taking pictures if you get interesting place with nice view or for getting the public toilet or having meals, coffee or tea at local restaurant during on your way to Ijen crater

Hoping around at 01:00 or 02:00 am (midnight time), we will arrive in the parking area on the slope of Mount Ijen or it is famous as base camp of Paltuding, and from this place we will do climbing Mount Ijen crater for 1.5 – 2 hours to reach to the peak of  Mount Ijen. If the weather is good enough, you will see the milky way on the top of Mount Ijen. From the top of Mount Ijen, you are required to descend to reach to the crater to see the blue fire or the other word, we called it by blue flame or api biru at Ijen crater and on this trekking and expedition tour Ijen, you will be accompanied by our staff + mining worker who are expert with the paths on the Ijen crater. The blue fire in Ijen Crater is ignited by the sulphuric gas, which emerges from cracks at temperatures up to 600 degrees Celsius (1,112 degrees Fahrenheit) and it's flame can reach up to 5 meters (16 feet) high. The cold gas will condense to liquid with the flame of blue color. It is the largest blue flame area in the world and local people refer to it as “Blue Fire”

After enjoy spectacular view of blue fire in Ijen crater, we will ascend back to the top of Ijen Crater to see sunrise and afterward, you will see also green lake of sulfur & mining worker activities.  Resting on the edge of the crater at an altitude of 2883 meters and enjoy best panorama of the lake of sulfate where reflects spectacular view in the surrounding walls to give the impression like unforgettable thing with nice view of green lake of sulfur. The sulfur mining workers go down into the crater and climb back up by passing dangerous path on the edge of Ijen Crater with the load as much as 80 kilograms on their shoulders. This is really a dangerous & hard job. Here also, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery in the crater of Ijen as one of God’s amazing creation. Do not forget to take pictures in this area as a proof that you have visited one of the most amazing places on earth

After enjoyed the Ijen expedition & trekking tours with the amazing scenery of Ijen crater which including: the milky way, blue fire, sunrise and green lake of sulfur in Ijen crater, you are required for descending from Mount Ijen back to the parking area by passing the same paths as you have done when your climbing time.
